The year 2007, though difficult in regards to my health, was fruitful with my artistic endeavors. In January, my family and I moved to Dorset from London and suddenly my senses came to life with the natural beauty. I had already be painting stones I’d seen in gardens and on trips to Brighton’s pebbled beaches, but Dorset was alive with geology! Walks to school in the mornings and afternoons ended with pockets full of stones of different shapes and colours.
For the year 2007 I also collected a lot of photographs of stones and pebbles. I was most fascinated by the stones at Charmouth with their brilliant reds and blues.
On a darker note it was confirmed in 2007 that I am suffering from an autoimmune disorder – possibly Mixed Connective Tissue Disorder, Premature Ovarian Failure, Costocondritis, and Otosclerosis (a condition of the middle ear which will eventually leave me deaf).
The highlight of 2007 would have to be meeting and joining an artist group called WavyBlue. In June I answered an add about a mobile exhibition for Bournemouth and now 6 months later we have just finished a group exhibition in at London’s Oval House Theatre.

By far though, just meeting regularly with a group of artists that have so much experience and knowledge about art and the art world has been a blessing to my soul. We meet regularly and each time I leave I feel rejuvenated and inspired. I’ve been very lucky to have found them and to have been welcomed as a member.
I’m now looking forward to our next meeting in January where we will all get a taster course in Printmaking – something I’ve always wanted to do, but just never got around to doing.
As for my own artistic journey. . .I envision more stones, more nature, and maybe some very colour trees
